Part 1 Course curriculum consists of a pre-recorded virtual learning course online that guides providers on evidence-based and peer reviewed education from a pioneer cannabinologists who provides an introduction and overview of the Endocannabinoid system (ECS), what makes up the ECS with review of plant constituents, definitions between cannabis, hemp, marijuana and new nomenclature. Course historian dives deep exploring the ancient history and uses of cannabis and its evolution, early 1800’s pharmaceutical preparations and pharmaceutical companies marketing cannabis, how prohibition of the plant affected the culture of cannabis and its use in the early 1900’s, removal of cannabis from pharmacopeia to the introduction to modern medicinal cannabis, discovery of THC, review of the Controlled Substances Act of 1970, Federal Compassionate Access Investigational New Drug Program (IND) of 1978 to the modern day.

Further review of the ECS, composition of the ECS, mechanisms of Retrograde Inhibition, health benefits of cannabis, disease prevention, nutraceutical benefits, therapeutic applications with review of the Entourage Effect. Course includes bonus questions at the end of lecture. This two-part course is a must for those seeking expert knowledge from a world renowned cannabinologist and historian who pioneered the way in cannabis medicine. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Learners will be able to identify and recognize the mechanics of the cannabis plant

  • Understand that utilizing all cannabinoid constituents in cannabis medicine greatly benefits medical outcomes and understands the impacts of the entourage effect
  • Ability to apply and propose these learnings directly into practice
